Strange metallic effect since switching to Gnome/Wayland (from Gnome/X11)

Idk if switching from X11 to Wayland is the issue or something else, there have been lots of updates to video codecs and libraries, Chrome itself and so on. Chrome used to work great, with --enable-unsafe-webgpu flag enabled. Now, e.g. an upscaled photo comes out like this, and videos have the same metallic effect... Oh my god, i just realized its the Terminator's mimetic polyalloy isn't it?? They are starting to take over. Hope you know of a way to fix it. I scaled down the output by 50% and saved as a WebP image to be able to upload. Also, when I try to use Firefox, it just sends me an empty transparent canvas the same dimensions as the upscaled photo might be, so that's kinda weird, like something is crashing midway but doesn't return properly? Thanks

That's definitely a bug, but I'm not sure if it's strictly speaking my bug or some low level bug somewhere else in the stack that I need to work around. Do you have a test source image you can share by any chance?
